Marlies slip past Monsters in Shootout

The Monsters took on the Marlies again this time in Toronto. The Monsters had a 2-0 lead after two periods after Durno and Willsie scored during those twenty minutes. However, the Marlies would score twice early in the third period to tie the game. Derek Peltier, in overtime, would be denied a goal on a breakaway. Therefore, with no goals in overtime, the game went to a shootout. In the shootout, the Marlies scored on their first two shots and the Monsters were held off the board.
